Room 3a have been working on recognising and describing 2D and 3D shapes. This week we played a few games in small groups to help us with this.
Station one: Make 3D shapes with magnetic 2D shapes! (probably the favourite)
Station two: recognising shape and colour patterns on the interactive whiteboard or making models from the 3D shapes.
Station three: 3D shape bingo.
Station four: 2D shape feely bag. Recognising and naming 2D shapes through touch only!
Station five: outdoors shape hunt. Drawing the shapes we recognised in our outside area.
Great fun was had by all and lots of good discussions about shapes. Can the children spot any 2D or 3D shapes at home or on their walk to school?
