Miss Michie

On behalf of Miss Michie and the school, I would like to thank everyone who was involved in making Miss Michie’s last week at Mile End so special. I know she was quite overwhelmed by the wonderful gifts, letters, cards and flowers she received.

Schools Information Line

May I remind parents of the Aberdeen City Council Schools telephone emergency service; this allows parents quick access to emergency announcements such as closures

due to adverse weather conditions. As the colder weather approaches you may wish to keep this information handy.

Telephone 0870 054 1999; pin code Mile End 011520 website: www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/closure

Poppies

Primary Seven pupils will be coming round the classes this week selling poppies for the British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Property

Only one term gone and already the lost property is beginning to mount up! Please could you help by making sure all property is labelled so that any lost items can be returned. As we are a Health Promoting School, we would like the children to be outside playing as much as possible and to allow for this, all pupils should be bringing a jacket to school everyday.

Panoramic Photo

We are still awaiting the arrival of the school order for the panoramic photo and this will be distributed as soon as it arrives in school.

What’s been happening at school ?

Last term we had the very successful Chitty Chitty Bang Bang workshops and Grandpa Potts was also able to present Finlay Divers with her prize for the winning poster in the Responsible Dog Ownership Competition. We have had quite a few sporting achievements already this year. The school football team won a seven a side competition and several pupils took part in the Active Schools Fun Run with Peter Dijkhuizen coming 3rd in his year group, Lucy McLeod 2nd in her group and Ben Renton winning his group overall. Well done everyone.

Dates for your diary

This is a busy term for everyone so please look at the list overleaf which has the dates you will need to know. There are obvious dates missing which are around the move to the new school but we will share all this with you as soon as we have confirmed, accurate information.
